Hello + my lovely friends. I’m feeling good this Sunday + and I’m just thankful for another week + and I’m uplifted by a beautiful post from Beutiflee. Thanks for the constant inspiration.
My daughter told me [the other day] that she liked my previous Sunday post about doing something that brings you joy before you do something that’s daunting or a chore. This helps you power through it. Like fuel … your feeding your happiness tank to move you through your tasks + and that feeds my soul + and keeps me posting on this blog. Every time someone receives encouragement from my Sunday post … even if it’s only reaching someone I know is what I need. It’s my push to keep going.
This weeks question or task [depending on how you look at it] in the journal says … “List the things about yourself that you don’t need to change.”
- My determination
- The way I communicate
- Diffusing situations
- Compassion for others
- The kid inside
- My focus
- Making things pretty
- Being classic
- Talking too much
TAKE ACTION: Set a reminder on your phone or calendar to reread this list on this day one year from now to remember all of the ways that you do love yourself and are proud of who you are!
We all need positive affirmation + and as I mentioned above … it’s fuel. I need to feed my soul or top off my happiness tank. I love the “Take Action” exercise + and I’m setting my reminder today. There are some things on this list that I used to be ashamed of + and there are things that others have cautioned me about. I learned a long time ago that I’m not going to let anyone else put out my fire [so to speak]. Don’t let anyone eclipse your sun.
Being able to talk to people from all different walks of life is a gift + and I refuse to be ashamed of it. There are times when the kid inside me shines through and it’s what I need + in that particular situation. The biggest thing for me on this list [which may surprise you] is daydreaming. I will never ever stop daydreaming + because maybe … just maybe … I can parlay my daydreams into reality.
With that + I’ll close my post today. Thanks so much for visiting my blog + and with each post for this list + I hope that I can bring some of my happiness + and or wisdom to someone in need + because if you have happiness + and joy in your heart + you spread that happiness + and joy to others. – [Know Thyself] Wye
Good morning friends and Happy Sunday [Happy Lords Day]. It’s been a pleasant chilly weekend + but it’s not over yet because of Veterans Day. It’s nice to really enjoy Sunday without hustling to get ready for Monday. For as long as I can remember I’ve disliked Mondays + and I believe there is a stigma attached to the first day of the week as it is with the last day of the work-week.
This weeks list is a bit different + because yes … I haven’t finished it. It asks to “List the Movies + Books + and TV Shows that make you feel happy. This category is so vast that I haven’t been able to complete this list. I’ve only written a few from each category. This one actually has me scratching my head because some of these shows evoke a feeling + and there are only a few that allow me to carry that feeling that with me.
The “Take Action” says … Tomorrow morning wake up a half hour earlier than normal and read your favorite book + or watch part of your favorite movie + or TV show. It’s so much more fun waking up to indulge in what you love than waking up to do tasks!
For this exercise + I’m conflicted. I know the purpose of what it’s asking + and it basically means … start your day with something that evokes that happy feeling + as this will help you move through your day feeling good. I’m all about feeling good but this exercise is not practical for me + as it may not be practical for most people because we have jobs + or families + so when we get up + time is limited. When I get up in the morning for work it’s a chore + and if I don’t keep it moving I’ll never get out the door. So I don’t have time to start my day this way. I can read or catch a snippet of something during my commute + and maybe that’s the way I have to approach this. Continue reading “Sunday Journal: Chit-Chat … 52 List for Happiness [List #17]”
Good Morning Friends and happy Sunday. I’m happy to say that I’m feeling better + and I’m hoping to stay that way. It’s been a great weekend as my daughters show opened this weekend + and can I say how proud I am to be her Mom. My “B” works hard + and it’s not easy or glamorous to pursue your dreams + but it is so worth it. So “B” … you keep doing you.
This week the list asks … to List the experiences that have made you feel you are living life to the fullest.
- Letting go of hurt feelings + and insecurities so I can experience new things.
- Going to college + and beginning my degree program in my 30s.
- Coming out of my comfort zone.
- Accepting my job for being just a job.
- Not moving to the ATL.
TAKE ACTION: Can you take the joy and excitement of these events and re-create them on a smaller scale? If you feel like it’s doable + go wild and try one of these things in your everyday life this week.
As I thought about what to put in this list + I really thought about the phrase “Living Life to the Fullest” … and since I’m not done living + I can only list a few things. The most difficult action has been … coming out of my comfort zone. As you age you tend to become set in your way of doing things. I’d like to think that I’m someone that’s adaptable to change [but who am I kidding]. That must be something that I made up in my head + because I’m still learning to accept change. There is this chorus in a gospel song that goes … Please be patient with me … God is not through with me yet … and He is not. So I will step out of what’s comfortable + and try to live life and not just exist in it. Continue reading “Sunday Journal: Chit-Chat … 52 List for Happiness [List #16]”
Hello Friends and Happy Sunday. I was glad to have a day just to be still and relax. I haven’t been able to nap during my down time in weeks + but Friday + and Saturday I was actually able to take at least a hour on each day to nap. Let me tell you that my body needed this. October has been an extremely busy month for me + and my body let’s me know that I’m doing too much in the way of aches + and pains. Rest is so vital make sure you get plenty of it.
This week begins with List 15 which asks … ” List the things you want to say no to” …
- Taking on work projects that are not practical.
- Medicines to control my health.
- Working with certain co-workers or staff.
- Some family obligations.
- Teaching people that don’t want to learn.
TAKE ACTION: Did you include the words fear or guilt on your list? [No] So often we spend so much time worrying about whether to say yes or no to a person or an experience that we get lost in the guilt and worry. It’s ironic since the root of having a hard time saying no is that we are afraid of feeling guilty! This week follow your gut and practice saying no to the things you don’t have the time + energy + or desire to do. Skip the guilt phase and enjoy feeling assured of your choices.
