Hello Friends, and welcome (or welcome back) to the blog.
Quote of the Day!
“Momentum begins with motion — start now, even if it’s imperfect.” – The Good Trade Team
Friends, I hope you take the time to enjoy some creature comforts, and remember to stay hydrated, read a good book, and get plenty of rest. *Don’t forget to breathe*.
Year after year, I struggle with what to wear for work on the few days I do work. It’s like being on a hamster wheel. I rotate between the same two pairs of black pants and two pairs of jeans, with a black or white shirt and a black sweater. I look like an evil movie villain.
Over the last two months, I’ve been heavily into Pinterest, looking at clothing styles (NOT TRENDS) that will last and that I can rotate for the foreseeable future. This year, when I did my shopping, I had a plan. I only got pieces that would go with everything, and I shopped sustainably where possible.
Once I got all my goodies I didn’t have a way to coordinate outfits, what they would look like and what I would wear, so I thought ok maybe I could do something in Canva, but that would be a pain in the ass. Then I started to search for apps and finally came across INDYX, which helped me catalogue my pieces, put them in a virtual wardrobe, and pair them together.
Indyx unlocks the potential of what you own. As the best FREE digital wardrobe and styling app, you can index your closet, plan outfits, track your cost-per-wear, share your closet with friends, and get styled by experts—all in one place! (FROM INDYX)
DIGITIZE YOUR WARDROBE
Indyx gives you the tools to create an oh-so-scrollable digital wardrobe that makes shopping your own closet just as satisfying as doom scrolling a shopping site. Add your photos and we’ll automatically remove the background and optimize image quality. Need some help indexing? We also offer wardrobe cataloging services that send a professional Archivist to your home to digitize your wardrobe without you lifting a finger.
STYLE YOUR WARDROBE
Plan outfits on your own with fully customizable drag-and-drop outfit boards. No random outfits styled by robots or complete chance, just authentic style solutions along with just-for-you tips and tricks that make all the difference.
For this particular app, I had to upload pictures of most of the things I was going to wear, which is tedious (i.e., find the image, crop the image, upload the image to the app, add the brand name and size), and then your item appears. Indyx doesn’t allow you to pull from web links, but you can take selfies and use those as references. Once I got that out of the way, I could create outfits and add them to the calendar within the app.
Here’s a peek of the app
This has been the first week that I’ve used it to plan what I’m wearing, and it’s (literally) saved my morning because there was no guesswork. I’ve planned everything in the app, including my jewelry and shoes. The only thing that may change that outcome is the weather. This app is free, but if you decide to use “Insiders services” (support from a stylist) it costs $5 per month (or $60 a year) [#notsponsored], but the first month is free. I don’t know if I would pay monthly, but if it were a one-time cost, I may do it, because it’s worth it, if I get back some sanity in the mornings.
Friends, that’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed this post. At some point, I’ll create another post on simplifying my days, possibly including this app. Thanks so much for visiting the blog today. — Peace
