Hello Friends, and welcome (or welcome back) to the blog.
Quote of the Day!
“A half-truth is just a whole lie.” – Home is Where the Bodies Are
Friends, I hope you are enjoying some creature comforts, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of rest. *Don’t forget to breathe*.
In a climate where everyone is tightening their purse strings (I’m talking about you, eggs @ $7.00 per dz), we should always make room for something special. A reward for hard work, staying focused, getting that yearly breast exam, or doing 30 minutes of exercise daily. Humans are used to a reward system, and with that comes the wishing wanting.
For me, buying something for my home is like getting a toy when you’re a kid. You pick it out at the store (if you’re me, you’ve been stalking it for a while), and when you get home, you can’t wait to use it. I’m like that with decor. My house is this life-sized plaything, and I can move things, create moments, and make my nest unique. It’s the same for make-up or beauty products and indulging yourself. (My eyes are all glassy thinking about it.)
With that, I want to share some things on my (want-it) wishlist.
**1**
Poplin Shirt Dress
I’m not a fan of “fast-fashion,” but every now and then, you see something and think, “I need that.” I can pair this with so many things, and it’s great for the season. However, it made my list because it’s on SALE!
**2**
Silver Brutalist Hammered Ring
I don’t wear much jewelry other than earrings. I’m naked without them, but I love a statement piece.
**3**
Over-ear headphones
I love House of Marley products because they are sustainably made and extremely comfortable. These would be my vacation-tune-out-the-world-in-my-head phones.
**4**
Yves St. Laurent Body Serum
I ran out of the one I was gifted for Christmas, and I’m in love. It’s pure indulgence, complete luxury. My skin loves this—nuff said.
**5**
Blue Yeti Mic
My current Blue Ball mic was great; however, now that we have this podcast, I need one better suited for this purpose. This purchase will be sooner vs. later.
**6**
Leopard Berkley Pump
I’ve gone back and forth with these shoes because at the season of life I’m in, I need to be comfortable. No more shoes that are pinching my toes, or hurting the ball of my foot or rubbing my heels. Me done! These seem like the best options but time will tell.
**7**
Zebra Utensil Holder
Kitchen items can be so bland, so when I saw this, my heart relayed cuteness to my brain. Also, I hate my current utensil holder, so this would be a unique bright spot in my kitchen.
**8**
Artwork (Woman, Skeleton)
Art can change a space’s mood. It’s the simplest way to decorate and infuse your style with a few curated pieces. I’ve been eyeing this art since last year but haven’t gotten around to it. (Oh, it’s happening)
My list is small but mighty, and it’s something to look forward to. I usually get one or two things from every list I make, and the bigger ticket items I save for a (really) crappy day. (Hey, we all have our vices)
What’s one thing you’re wishing for this year? Let me know in the comments. Thanks so much for visiting the blog today. — Peace
