31 Days of Halloween (Kick-Off): Day #1 – DIY Decor

Hello, family, and welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween!

What’s up, family? It’s Blog Tober…baby! And I’m back this year with my month-long series (Voice intro below), where I will post about all things Halloween every day in October.

This year, I’m doing one week of Halloween decor (which is fitting because the first thing I do is decorate), one week of Halloween-themed games, and just one week of scary movies. The last week will be a grab bag of books, trivia, music, themed backgrounds, and a movie list for fraidy cats.

I hope you can join me for the entire series and share some fun and creative content for the spooky season. Now, let’s begin Day #1 of the 31 Days of Halloween.

Easy Halloween DIYs

Potterybarn Pumpkin Dupe

You can find ceramic pumpkins at Michaels, but you can also achieve this effect with the cheaper pumpkins at your local dollar store.

NOTE:  This one is doable, but I’m only doing one because I have so many pumpkins in my stash.

Creepy Picture Framed Art

This can be done with any portrait, but if you don’t have one, you can always download one for free via Creative Commons and have it printed at the drugstore or Office Depot.

NOTE: This one might be more challenging, but I want to try. I currently have two blank frames that I need to fill.

Bat Printables

Free bat printables are easy to find by searching Google for free clip art or using PixabayFreepik, or RawPixel. There are so many things you can do with cut-out bats. Cascade them down a wall, in your entryway, or around a doorframe. You can also display them as the link shows.

NOTE: This has to be the easiest one on my list, hands down. You don’t just have to print bats; a gothic moth motif is also really effective.

Bedazzled Skull

This DIY shows the marble effect, but your skull can be bronze, black, or whatever color you choose.

NOTE: This does require the purchase of the stick-on gems and pearls, as well as the ceramic skull. So, while not the cheapest on the list, this is also another easy DIY.
