That’s a Wrap! Time To Unpack the Month of September on the Blog

Hello friends, and welcome or welcome back to the blog!

Quote for today
“Autumn leaves are Mother Nature’s way of showing us that change can be beautiful and messy at the same time.”― Sandjest

Hello, my pretties. How are you today? I hope you are staying productive, maybe reading a good book, getting plenty of water and rest, and enjoying the Season.

Can you believe it? October is here (shy of one day).  The pumpkins have arrived at my garden center (albeit wet from all the rain).  It’s been cloudy and foggy, just like a fall day, but not cool.  It still feels soupy and humid, so I hope October brings cooler temperatures in its wake.

September has been a low-key month, and although I didn’t do everything I set out to, the fact that I accomplished some tasks is fine with me.  With that said, let’s get into this month.

***September posts!***

Here is a compilation of September.  Click on the image to link to the post.

Other things…

IN MY CITY
The mere mention of Fall brings all the festivals.  I’ve only been to one in DC, but there were so many folks that it was hard to get around and see the vendors.  I came away with some handmade soaps and body oil.  My daughter got jewelry and art.  (sorry, there are no photos for this one)

ALL THE STICKERS
I can’t seem to get enough (I’m obsessed), and even though I’m making them with my Cricut, I’ve also found some lovely stickers on Etsy.  Here’s what I got.

Fall Illustrations ~ Opal & Fern Designs
Washi Tape ~ BBB Supplies Craft Shop (I purchased 4 other designs a month ago)
Fall Sticker Pack ~ Emerald Avenue

ONE MORE THING…
This month also marked my daughter’s birthday, and we celebrated with a few of her close friends by having a movie party, trivia, and games. It was a great time. Here’s a picture of the fabulous cake.

WE STARTED A PODCAST!
The “we,” being my daughter and I, started a new podcast series.  We’ve been talking about doing something for some time but didn’t know what shape it would take. Enter “The Bubble Podcast”.  My daughter loves network TV; however, TV has got to “WOW’ me to stay invested.  Our podcast will talk about network TV news, new shows, and our take on whether or not the show will last or be canceled.  Check us out here on Spotify.

Podcast and articles …oh my!

Other than my ARCs and Good Reads challenge, here are a few articles and podcasts I’ve been listening to this month.

City Cast DC
6 Entryway Items You Can Declutter Now ~ The Spruce
99 Ways to Slow Down for Fall ~ The Good Trade
The 7 Types of Rest You Need to Feel Your Best ~ The Good Trade

Movies (🎬) and documentaries I watched in September

What I didn’t watch over the past few months I made up for in August because I did see a few good and a few that were not so good.

Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 😒 (for a Marvel..I’m not a fan of the Universe)
Love Lies Bleeding 👍🏽 (Another A24 film and I enjoyed this)
Lovely, Dark, and Deep 👎🏽 (I didn’t care for this one, but it’s on Tubi, so most of those originals are not that great)
Real Murders on Elm Street 👍🏽 (This is a true crime MAX Series)
Who’s Afraid of a Cheap Old House (HGTV Series; I love all things home decor related)
Evil (Series, I’m currently watching Season 1, and I love it!)
Men, 2022 (A24 has some interesting movies that are not all horror)

September book 📚 haul

Trying to make things fit

My daughter and I went on a thrift crawl this month, visiting four thrift stores. She was looking for movies while I was looking for books. I only picked up a few but I also downloaded some audible titles.  Here’s what I got.

Ninth House, Leigh Bardugo
The Cursed Among Us, (audible) John Durgin
Murder Road, (audible) Simone St. James
