My Favorite Things From Thrive Market
Hello friends, and how are you? Welcome to the blog today.
“The heat of autumn is different from the heat of summer. One ripens apples, the other turns them to cider.” — Jane Hirshfield
I hope everyone is taking good care of themselves and getting plenty of rest. Eat as cleanly as possible and take small moments to rest your body and mind.
Are you counting down to Fall? I know I am, and we were kissed with some fabulous Fall-like weather last week, with temperatures not going above 75 degrees. But I knew that wouldn’t last, so we’re back to 92, but with the humidity, it feels like 105. Me and Summer (sigh😩) …I’d like to be looking at the back end of it very soon.
But enough about the weather (it’s mostly what Washingtonians talk about…LOL), I want to share some of my favorite items from Thrive Market.
A little backstory if you don’t know. Thrive Market is an online membership-based market that sells healthy, sustainable products at member-only prices. The company was founded in 2014 to make healthy living more affordable and accessible for everyone. Thrive Market offers a wide selection of products, including groceries, wine, pet supplies, health and beauty items, and vitamins and supplements. The company specializes in organic and non-GMO products, and members can save up to 30% off retail prices on these items. Thrive Market also offers a price-match guarantee, and members can shop according to their diet and lifestyle.
Thrive Gives has been our promise since day one: every annual membership sponsors a free membership for families in need.
I only place orders about once a month, and my budget is capped at $55 because, let’s face it, groceries are hella expensive these days, and if you get them delivered by using Instacart or some other service, it’s worse.
My Favorite Thrive Goodies
I have some criteria when shopping. I’m looking for healthy snacks like crackers and puffs with no more than 70 carbs per serving, sweets and jams with no high fructose corn syrup, artificial ingredients or dyes, spices, and environment-friendly cleaning supplies. Here are my top repeat items. I won’t highlight everything shown, so I’ll go over a few.
Miso Paste
An excellent base for soup, you can add garlic to the past and sautee it with fish (and it’s so darn good)
Apricot Spread
Hands down, this is the best one I’ve tried. It’s good for breakfast or if you fancy a delicious BBQ sauce.
Rosey APC
Fall scent. I’ve tried several “on-trend” fall scents from Method, Ms. Meyers, and others that are so strong and perfumy that they burn my nose. This scent from Rosey, I’m in love. The Meyer lemon is also lovely and light, and it does a great job on my old countertops and surfaces.
Little Secrets Waffers
Talk about good, and only 17 carbs per serving.
Herbs de Provence
You only need a little, and it’s good on potatoes and chicken and good with eggs and grilled toast.
I know that not everyone can afford a paid membership, and neither could I several years ago. However, eating clean and healthy has become my number one goal and one that my doctors keep hammering in my head. So I can opt not to get that pair of shoes or stuff I don’t need and invest in myself. The membership is $59.95 per year (about $5 per month), up to 30% off popular brands, gifts with qualifying orders, and free shipping on all orders over $49. Shipments arrive in 2-3 business days, so it’s a win-win for me.
So far (for free), I’ve gotten specialty breakfast granola and a cooking staples set that includes ghee, almond butter, a cookbook, and fusilli. I’ve had my membership since February because I’ve made some healthy resolutions for the new year, and I order about every other month.
Well friends, I’ll end here. I hope I’ve given you some cheaper healthy alternatives if you’re looking to make some changes in your regular eating habits.
