What’s On My Fall Good Reads List!
Welcome, and come on in!
🍁 “Autumn is the hardest season. The leaves are all falling, and they’re falling like
they’re falling in love with the ground.”🍂☕️🪵 — Andrea Gibson
Hello friends, how are you? I hope you are doing well, staying hydrated, taking some days to unplug, taking care of your body, getting plenty of rest, and taking your vitamins.
My face has been in a book (or earbuds in listening to a book) since January. I’ve added so many to my TBR list that it’s insurmountable. (LOL) But that’s what I love about it. I charged at my GR Challenge with vigor, but now that it is August, I’m trying to fit in what I want to read for Fall 🍂 vs. the ARCs I need to read.
I love horror 💀 novels, but I also love murders, mysteries, and thrillers, and my upcoming Fall list (although challenging) is exciting to me. So here’s the shortlist (and I do mean short) of what I would like to read in the Fall. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽 in hopes that I actually get to read them.🥺
Here’s what’s on my list for the Season!
Which is roughly now through the end of September.
Wasps in the Ice Cream, Tim McGregor (Horror, Thriller, Paranormal) Summer 1987: Mark Prewitt’s only priority is to avoid his dad’s new wife and waste time with his friends, but idle nights are the devil’s handiwork. When his friends decide to pull a cruel prank on the reclusive and strange Farrow sisters, Mark regrets caving into peer pressure. Wanting to make amends, Mark is drawn into the mysterious world of the Farrow girls, finding a kindred spirit in the middle sister, George. She is unlike anyone he’s ever known, a practicing witch who uses folk magic to protect her family. They bond over books, loneliness, and homemade spells. She even invites Mark to join a séance to contact her dead sister, who died under mysterious circumstances. |

The Midnight Feast, Lucy Foley (Mystery, Thriller) It’s the opening night of The Manor, and no expense, small or large, has been spared. The infinity pool sparkles; crystal pouches for guests’ healing have been placed in the Seaside Cottages and Woodland Hutches; the “Manor Mule” cocktail (grapefruit, ginger, vodka, and a dash of CBD oil) is being poured with a heavy hand. Everyone is wearing linen. But under the burning midsummer sun, darkness stirs. Old friends and enemies circulate among the guests. Just outside the Manor’s immaculately kept grounds, an ancient forest bristles with secrets. And the Sunday morning of opening weekend, the local police are called. Something’s not right with the guests. There’s been a fire. A body’s been discovered.

The Afterparty, AC Arthur (Mystery, Contemporary, Thriller) Venus McGee, Draya Carter, and Jackie Benson are coworkers with a lot in common. They’re smart, independent, driven, and deserving of recognition—certainly more than they’ve been handed by a demoralizing boss. He’s the topic of conversation at their impromptu get-together after the company holiday party, where the threesome fantasizes about a life without him. There has to be an alternative to taking a deep breath and sucking it up. There is. It’s just not the one they expected. |

Middle of the Night, Riley Sager (Mystery, Thriller, Horror) The worst thing to ever happen on Hemlock Circle occurred in Ethan Marsh’s backyard. One July night, ten-year-old Ethan and his best friend and neighbor, Billy, fell asleep in a tent set up on a manicured lawn in a quiet, quaint New Jersey cul de sac. In the morning, Ethan woke up alone. During the night, someone had sliced the tent open with a knife and taken Billy. He was never seen again.

Ok, so yes … this list is only four titles, and I know you’re thinking … Wye … this is nothing. However, I want to read two in October that are strictly horror. I will have two mystery-only titles in November, and then I will try to finish some of my GR Challenges by the end of the year.
The one thing going for me (now) is that I already have all these titles on Audible in the queue and ready as soon as I finish my ARC title, Sleep Tight. I can read two at once, usually a printed copy and an Audible.
So that’s it! My list is short and sweet, and, if I can read a book a week, I can do it. Game on! LOL.
Well, friends, this ends this short post today. What are you reading for Fall? Are they all new titles or classics? Let me know in the comments. Thanks so much for visiting my corner of the world. I appreciate all the love and support. — Peace
