That’s a Wrap! Time To Unpack the Month of July on the Blog

Hello friends, and welcome or welcome back to the blog!

Quote for today
“My time is incredibly expensive.” — The Good Trade

Hello, beautiful people, and how are you today?  Tired of this damn-hell heat? Are you ready for some fall temps?  Then let the church say …Amen.  Family, (please) remember to stay hydrated; by the time you feel the effects, it’s already too late. Get plenty of rest in this slow-down summer, and treat your body well.

Well, July came and went in a flash of sweltering hot days, downpours, stupid coworkers, work shenanigans, and other tomfoolery.  July has also been great for some slow Summer days, with lots of reading, meditation, and trying some new things. I don’t blog about everything because we, as content creators, like to keep some things to ourselves, but my blog activity ebbed and flowed throughout the month.  I’m hoping to pick up some momentum as we get into Fall and Halloween, but I still filled July with what I could, so here are all the happenings.

***July posts!***

Here is a compilation of July.  Click on the image to link to the post.

Shopping This Month

I didn’t haul much this month as the Bank of Wyetha was closed to all unnecessary activity (LOL), but as Fall approaches and I try NOT to spend on Halloween or Fall decor, we will see how good (or terrible) my willpower is.  What did I haul?  Stickers, Stickers, Stickers!  I’m obsessed with Opal & Fern’s sticker collection on Etsy.  So, if you do any kind of journaling or crafting, these are perfect.

As far as apparel goes, I’m always searching for comfortable pieces (💗). I got these two tops from Quince, which are my favorites. They’re the first thing I reach for when I’m going to work. I also love that Quince uses sustainable materials and has ethical practices with full transparency on its website.

Linen Shirt, Quince

Articles I’m reading!

I’m really slow when it comes to reading articles. Since I have to read so many for work, it siphons the energy from me reading anything that really interests me. Here are a few that I’ve enjoyed from my favorite place: The Good Trade.

99 Activities For Celebrating Summer

Movies and documentaries I watched in July

I didn’t watch much in July, so this list is pitiful. Maybe it’s good that I was NOT sitting in front of the TV. My daughter and I have been watching Midsomer Murders, and we love it.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire 👎🏾(Wasn’t that great, I was hoping for more)
School Spirits (Booo!  This ended on a cliff-hanger with no Season 2 in site 😭)
Midsomer Murders (In progress)

Fun things this month

We went to a concert! I haven’t been to a concert in some time. Plays, yes, musicals, yes, but a concert…not since last summer. The Queens of R&B were in DC this month, and the lineup was Total, 702, Xscape, and SWV.  Nice to see these ladies still in the game, looking good and sounding better than ever.

July book haul

The retail therapy continues, and what’s a month without getting a few books?

One Of Us Is Dead, Jeneva Rose
The Midnight Feast, Lucy Foley (GR Challenge)
The Fourth Wing, Rebecca Yarros (GR Challenge)

July reading

Here’s what I’ve read and the link for my 2024 Good Reads Challenge partial list.

Sadie, Courtney Summers (Libby)
The Night She Disappeared, Lisa Jewel (GR Challenge)
Antenora, Dori Lumpkin (ARC)
