“The Best of the Best” Self Care & Mindfulness Posts in 2023
Hello friends …Happy New Year, and welcome or welcome back.
QUOTE FOR JANUARY
“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.”― Meister Eckhart
Hello friends, I hope you’re feeling positive about the new year and making plans. Remember to stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, 10 minutes of mindfulness a day, and give yourself some grace.
We all know that “self-care” isn’t selfish. When you take the time to take care of yourself, you are benefitting others because you’ve had that physical and mental reset, so you’re ready to kick ass and take names (LOL)
As a single Mom, it was always hard for me to unwind and just be still. I always felt bad because I felt like I could be more productive, thus making my day run smoother, but sooner or later, that catches up with you, so ladies ..and gentlemen, take some time to take care of yourself. When I type the 2nd sentence of my blog post …I’m not just typing it to see the words on the screen. I’m typing it as a reminder to take care of YOU.
With that said, here are my top self-care posts for 2023. And so it goes...
It’s Been A Blue Winter: How I’m Coping This SeasonWinter 2023For some people, the seasons can be an overall reflection of their mood and temperament. Personally, I LOVE the cold weather, but having shorter daylight hours can be pretty isolating, and days seem to run into one another as that holiday feeling wears off and the new year sets in. This post reflects on a few things that I do to help shake the blues. |

My Weeknight Bedtime Routine!Late Summer 2023I don’t like to make things difficult when my body is tired, and because I’ve struggled with sleep for the last seven years, I’ve fine-tuned my routine to just a few things that prepare my mind and body for a (somewhat // which translates to menopause) restful sleep.

A Mental Health, Self Care Check InFall 2023AFFIRMATION FOR TODAY Adulting is hard, and just like most people, I suffer as well. Age doesn’t necessarily bring you out of this fog. It happens with time and the coping mechanisms I have in place to get me through those gray days. Lately, I’ve been feeling like the walls are caving in and that I have so many demands on me that I want to put the covers over my head and ignore everything. I have to allow myself grace and work with the tools that I have so I can maintain and be happy. I often tell myself, “You don’t have to do it all,” “You don’t have to be everything to everyone,” and “I’m not perfect, but I’m ok with that.” These mantras help me keep my feet planted and live in the “right now” phase. |
These posts hold a special place for me because it takes time to sit down and focus on what’s working in your life vs. the things that need fine-tuning. 2024 will bring a few more self-care posts and some feel-good content because we all need a little bit of that sprinkle.
I’ll end today’s best of the best here. Thanks so much for checking out the blog today. I wish you health and prosperity in the new year.– Peace
