12 Days of Christmas – Day #9 – My Five Favorite Holiday Cookies
Hello friends and Merry Christmas and welcome back!
Hello everyone and Happy Holidays! I was feeling a little down yesterday, and I know folks feel it this time of year, but I try not to let that stop me from blogging and being present. I’m, good today, and I hope you’re able to enjoy some holiday activities, watch some movies, and visit with friends and family.
It’s no secret, I’m not a baker but I do like making cookies at this time of year. It’s like riding a bike. (LOL) Once you got the basics it’s just a matter of what kind of cookies you like.
What I’ve learned over my short baking years is that I get my supplies from Aldi (because it’s cheaper). After I make my dough I put it in the fridge for an hour; no matter what the recipe says I bake it at 350 for 10-11 minutes, and my molasses cookies keep better in a sealed container vs a cookie tin. I know I have so much more to learn and my cookies come out great, it just takes a little extra effort.
Here are a few of my favorite cookies to make for Christmas
If these recipes are easy enough for me (then trust me) anyone can make them. I’ve also found that I can freeze little cookie balls, and then pop them in whenever we want cookies. This way they stay fresh, and you can have a nice warm cookie any day throughout the season. So …on it goes!
Next Year’s Inspo
Next year I want to try this cookie, but not for eating. This is more so a Holiday activity for my family to use as ornaments or gift toppers.
This recipe comes from The Merry Thought, and I think these houses are adorable. I may be able to get away with just using a sharp knife for the houses because I don’t have any cookie cutters.
Well friends I’ll end here, as we get closer to the Holiday I tend to tuck in and just enjoy my time and make the best of it. Thanks so much for visiting, and Happy Holidays.
