MONDAY Chat … Just Another Day of Quarantine
Hello friends, and Welcome to the blog! If this is your first time, I’m glad you stopped by, and I hope you consider subscribing.
If your already part of the family … Welcome back.
How is everyone doing this Monday? I hope you had a great weekend and I know you’ll have a great week. I know this is hard but I know we can do this so “Stay positive, stay safe, be well, and keep your head up.”
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” + Psalm 147:3
Last week was … well, it just was. It was filled with a lot of the same things that we’ve been doing for the past few months to stay occupied and busy. However, for some reason, I feel like last week I lost my mojo.
I’m Present …
I want to be present in our current quarantine situation, and stay alert to everything that’s happening. But as you know there is a limit to what I can’t watch or read … etc.
Last Friday, my daughter and I talked about the present situation and our fear of returning to work when testing is still limited, in our area. And still, there is no protocol for public transportation. How do you disinfect an entire Metrorail system? It’s damn near impossible.
Still, I remain positive, as our new return to work date is June 8th. At this time I still don’t feel comfortable and I don’t know what would make me feel comfortable. More testing is great but because this virus is different from person to person, I’m not willing to take that chance.
Working …
The one blessed thing about Telework is “EVERYTHING”! No more can they tell us that can’t Telework because we need to be a face in the organization. Now EVERYONE has to telework. And by the way … pushing paper from one end of my desk to another is not essential work. This is one of those situations, where I let God take over, and not stress about it, because stress is unhealthy for you.
There is a difference between good stress and bad. We have good stress going on vacation and wondering what cute stuff we will pack. Good stress in buying a home. Good stress in hosting a party for the first time. The bad stress makes you miss sleep, affects your mood, diet, and body chemistry. So I pray for calm in the midst of the storm.
At Home Life …
At home, life is at home life. We have game nights, and movie nights do weekly karaoke, and color in our books. I read my novels, work on my Bible Study, and crochet A LOT. Eating well, getting plenty of rest, exercising, and taking my vitamins are key.
We have make-up sessions, we talk, and we make plans for our future home and watch silly pet videos. My daughter and I cherish the connections with our friends, family, and co-workers. Connections online have become commonplace, and WE will be ok.
With that, I’ll end this here. Again … thanks for hanging with me today, and as always. — Know Thyself —
