It’s Too Damn Hot … Happy Friday!
Yes … “It’s Too Damn Hot!” but hello and happy Friday. This week has been a scorcher with temps heading to 100 by Saturday … all I want to do is nothing. Our building chillers went out on Tuesday evening so we’ve spent the better part of the week with sub-par air.
We’re at the cusp of unformtable heading towards miserable. It’s the moans and groans of Summer, and my least favorite time of the year. You can’t enjoy outside for more than 15-minutes, and it’s hot, sticky and downright awful but I’m not going to focus on it.
What Happened This Week?
It’s been a pretty low-key week on the home front, but it’s also been the marathon of meetings, at work. We’re almost at an ending point with just a few more to go which is fabulous. August not only brings scorching temps but a slow down at work.
This is the time for planning and getting things ready for late September. It’s also the cusp for some much needed off time which is well deserved.
Since I’m clearing things out I’ve also had time to go through some magazines that I’ve been hoarding and I’ve found some great recipes for the next few weeks. I’m also one chapter away in completing Stephen King’s … The Bazaar of Bad Dreams which is a compilation of short stories. I’m ready to move on to the next one on my Good Reads List.
Loving This Week in Pictures
[[1] My Law of Attraction box from the Happiness Planner came this week and I’m so excited. Check out the Happiness Planner to shop their vast selection of journals and other goodies.
[2] I’ve been trying to test more healthy recipes in lieu of using a service like Hello Fresh. Tried this Turkey & Quinoa Stuffed Eggplant from my Food Network Magazine for Sunday dinner and I was impressed. I don’t care for eggplant but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something different.
[3] This Cocokind Tumeric balm is actually working but not on my face. This balm is supposed to lighten blemishes or dark marks due to acne. I still have a few marks on my face, but I decided to also try this on a cut on my hand.
This mark has been around for at least 3 weeks and my skin wasn’t healing fast enough on its own so I’ve been using this balm everyday for a week and my scar is disappearing. I’m over the moon, and it’s it natural. I don’t have any before pictures … just what my scar looks like at this point.
[4] Another simple recipe from the Food Network Magazine. These Sausage- Stuffed Zuccini Boats were so darn good. And of course I doubled my recipe for leftovers.

Time for Back to School Ideas
It’s the most wonderful time of the year right. [LOL] I’m sure kids don’t think so but as Fall approaches it means going back to school, keeping schedules and staying on track.
Whether your loved one is going to college, entering Junior High, or preschool it can be a stressful time. Check out these DIYs, tips, and tricks to help the student in your life stay on track.
1. PB & J Apples + Delish
Who needs bread with the PB & J snack. Perfect in a lunch box for preschoolers, after school for Junior High Schoolers, or on the go for that college student.
2. Fridge Organization + I Heart Organizing
This is such a fantastic idea. I’ve been doing this for my daughter and I for the past few months. We both have bins in the fridge so when we prep our meals or snacks we just put everything in the bin, so we can grab it and go.
It’s great for everyone because each member of the family has a seperate bin for lunch and snacks.
3. Command Center + Seeds Of Faith
A command center is completely customizable and always good idea for a busy family. Whether it’s 2 in the household or 4, it’s a great space to drop mail, and school papers that need to be signed. You could also incorporate hooks for keys and backpacks.
4. Lunch Bots Bento Box + Amazon
A good Bento box is worth it’s weight in gold. This stainless steel bento box is PBA free, dishwasher safe, and good for hot or cold meals. Perfect for kids, and working adults.
5. Herschel Back Pack + Amazon
Herschel makes the best back packs. This version is slightly smaller, and at an affordable price point for kids. You’ll definitely get the most bang for your buck. I’ve had my bag for 3 years and it’s in excellent condition.
6. School Lunch Ideas + Modern Honey
We know that sandwiches can be boring and kids are fickle about having the same thing everyday. Modern Honey has some tasty lunch ideas to make sure your kids don’t get bored with the standard lunch. I’m sure these lunch boxes will be coming home empty.

I love the snack ideas. Plus, those recipes I’ll have to try. I’m praying this heat wave settles down. I can’t take it.
