Sunday Journal: Chit-Chat … 52 List for Happiness [#33]
Hello Friends! … and Happy Sunday. I just love the beginning of the week because it’s a fresh start or a do-over. Time to make this week better than the last and go into it with happy vibes.
I felt a little down last week, and I mentioned it in my Weekend post about what I call a winter lull. I have some things going on, and I want to move forward with some projects, and make some decisions, but I just can’t seem to get to it. I know this sadness, and sometimes I welcome it like an old friend. It comes and goes and usually, I busy myself to get out of it or tell myself I’m ok, and this will pass because it always does. So I have the need to surround myself with things that bring me joy.
Do you have friends or family that brighten your day or people you just gravitate towards? They make you feel good, and they don’t ask for anything in return. They’re a blessing, and your thankful that they are ingrained in your life. I have some special friends and family but because of life’s occurrences I don’t get to see them in a way I would like to, which brings me to list List #33 which asks … “List the people you want to spend more time with before the end of the year.
- Soney
- Ms. Hill
- My Dad
- My Mom
- College friends
- Former co-workers
“TAKE ACTION” It is so much easier to experience happiness with the help of a friend. Plan one way you will spend time with a friend this week. Try to keep planning a friend hang-out time once a week for the rest of the year and think of it as your weekly happiness investment.
Relationships and friendships take work, so the more time you invest in them, the more beneficial they become. I talk to my friends and family on a regular basis, but I don’t always get to see them. We will make plans but then something happens, and we have to re-schedule. The forces were looking working with me on this “take action” because I was already in the process of planning something with one of my close friends who’s going to be in town for the next two months.
I miss the time I use to spend with my college friends and former co-workers because we were friends outside of the work that needed to be done. My college friends and I would go on photo-walks, which would sharpen our skills. We helped each other with classwork and learning the manual functions of our cameras, and I miss that. Most of them are out the state so we communicate via phone or messaging but I still would like some hang-out time. These interactions are food for the soul, and these relationships build you up and can help you refocus on your goals. They are just uplifting in general.
With that … I’ll close my post today. Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and with each post in this series, I hope that I can bring some of my experiences, happiness, and what I’ve learned to others, because if you have happiness in your heart, then you spread those experiences to others, and pay it forward.
