Sunday Journal: Chit-Chat … 52 List for Happiness [#23]

Hello Friends! … and Happy sanctified Sunday. Last week was relaxing and peaceful as I had a few days off to reset my house, and set some goals for 2019.  We are all [in some way] trying to live the best life we can, working towards goals and achievements for the new year.  I think one of the ways we become better is by being kind to other because that’s a direct reflection of yourself.  Maybe you’re not feeling your, best every day, and if you can still do one kind thing, then that boomerangs back to you. Everything is a circle, and if you do good, and bless someone else who’s not having the best day, then you make them feel good and they can pass that blessing along to someone else.

As I speak about kindness to others List #23 asks … List the simple ways you enjoy being kind to others.#23 list

1. Writing a kind note
2. Giving up my seat on public transit
3. Always saying “good morning”
4. Offering a helping hand
5. Saying “thank you”
6. Giving when people don’t expect it

TAKE ACTION:  Turn this list into a check-list and see how many ways you can be kind to others this week.  Mark off each item that you complete.

This “Take Action” is fundamental, because sometimes your not really aware of how your kindness affects others.  You could be walking someone off a ledge without really knowing it.  You could be helping to shape the mindset of someone going through a difficult time.

The kindness of others helped me at a time when I really needed it.  The kindness of strangers or my co-workers was inspiring.  I don’t think people realize the cause and effect, of their actions good or bad.  I would hope that we could stop and slow down to tell someone “good morning”, or let someone go in front of you at the coffee shop, or even giving someone the change they need at the checkout line.

Doing good things can fill you in a way that you never imagined.  It the same reason why folks are always giving people advice on love, life, and happiness.  When you are giving something to someone, you can’t think about anything else … you’re just in that moment of giving.  What have you done this week to show your kindness to someone?  Do it … “the fire is catching” …. [had to throw a movie reference in] …

  1. Beautiful note to remember. I love the message in this post, it was really heartwarming. Reminds me why I choose to be kind. I enjoy making others feel a sense of happiness, even if it’s brief.
